A Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Practical Nurse will do an intake in the privacy and convenience of your home or at our office in St. Charles Hospital.

We will write letters of medical necessity and coordinate efforts with equipment companies to get the prescribed Durable Medical Equipment.

We can assist with Medicaid acquisition or disenrollment from Medicaid HMOs to straight Medicaid for qualified children.

We can assist with referrals to Medicaid Waiver programs for eligible families.

We can assist with SSI acquisition for children who meet the criteria.

We can intervene with insurance companies to get the benefits to which you are entitled, find participating specialists and assist with grievances and appeals.

We can provide contact numbers and information regarding Respite.

We can provide information regarding Advocacy and the laws protecting your child’s rights to a “free and appropriate education”.

We can provide recreational options for children with special healthcare needs.

We can make referrals to “Wish” agencies for qualified children.

We can provide alternate financial resources for unpaid medical bills for qualified families.

We can provide alternate financial resources for home modifications for qualified families.

We provide Parent Training sessions monthly. Previous topics have included: Transition, SSI and Medicaid benefits, Caring for the Caretaker and Assistive Technology.

We can provide information specific to diagnosis: i.e resources for children with Autism or Cerebral Palsy.

We provide an ongoing Sibling Support group for siblings of children with special healthcare needs.
